Gone fishing

Saturday Stephen and I went fishing at Folly Beach with Ben and Christy. We walked a while down the beach to the other side of the island where not many people go. It was so beautiful and so much fun. Stephen and Ben both caught a few little fish. Everytime they felt a big one the line ended up getting cut and they lost their rig. Finally, low tide came and we figured out what was going on. There was an oyster reef about 10 feet out that waas snagging the lines. We couln't see it at high tide. I guess the little ones they were pulling over it but the big ones were getting caught. Oh well. We all had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Frisbee Weekend

This weekend Stephen and I went to an Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Savannah. It was so fun to watch him play again. I really miss going to all his intramural games at Clemson. All of his teammates were really nice and everyone had a lot of fun. Overall they went 3-3 with one game getting canceled for rain.

The city is so beautiful. For one hour his team had a bye (no game) so I went for a run around the city. There are so many old beautiful houses and churches there. It was a beautiful place to run, but the heat was intense. Saturday evening we went to a BBQ place that was the number 2 restaurant in Savannah on trip advisor. Stephen said it was the best BBQ he had ever had. I though it tasted like every other BBQ I have ever had.

The next morning we both woke up with black tongues. I am not exaggerating. They were completely black. Stephen said he had never seen anything like it. He brushed it off with his tooth brush while I stared at the mirror contemplating what kind of deadly fungus/disease we had contracted. This morning I googled "black tongue" and finally found an article about how pepto bismol tablets (which we both took the night before) can turn your tongue black form reacting with the sulfur in your saliva. Phew.

I'm back!

I have finally returned to my long lost blog. (I was getting complaints about the ugly picture that has remained at the top all summer).

Stephen and I have had a jam packed summer. We have both been really busy with school. I took a 4 week fast forward class of Anatomy and Physiology II while still taking my online classes. I finally finished up today, but I start back to work on Monday : ( I really enjoyed being in school again. Stephen finished his Psych rotation today. He had to take a written test and do a patient interview with a "standardized patient." He thinks he did really well except, for the part where he ordered a pregnancy test for a woman who had previously had a hysterectomy. Whoops. And yes, he said I could write about that. He said Cayce might find it blog worthy : ) Monday he starts night float on the L&D floor. I am so excited for him to deliver his first baby. I think I am more excited than he is. I'm sad that the only time I will see him next week is when we cross paths in the parking lot while I am off to work and he is coming home to get some sleep. We'll make it though : )
